Section 1: Concerning the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion

Diocese of Atlanta: You can find news of our Diocese and a list of all the parishes in our Diocese. The Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church and of the Diocese are posted. You can learn about the programs of the Diocese and how the Diocese is organized.

The Episcopal Church in the USA: The EC website (formerly ECUSA) includes resources and links to other websites from a wide range of offices and organizations, including messages and announcements released by the Office of the Presiding Bishop and top news headlines from the Episcopal News Service. This site also has links to Parish websites from across the USA.

Episcopal News Service: ENS is the official news agency of The Episcopal Church and publishes news and feature stories and media advisories primarily for secular and church publications, such as diocesan newspapers. ENS publishes online as soon as the news is written.

New Link: Trinity Wall Street Anglican Stories: These stories show how people in the global Anglican Communion are working together for the kingdom of God. The longer-form videos are produced by Trinity Wall Street and narrated by senior producer Jim Melchiorre. The slideshows and galleries are generated by people across the Anglican Communion.

The Worldwide Anglican Communion: This is the entry to the official home pages of the Worldwide Anglican Communion. These pages provide resources and links to information about the work, witness and worship of the Anglican/Episcopal family of churches in over 160 countries around the globe.

Anglican Communion News Service: ACNS provides news and feature coverage of the worldwide Anglican Communion and is published by the Anglican Communion Office in London.

Anglicans Online: A world wide web site devoted to the goings on of the Anglican Church in Canada and around the world. Editors who review the web site consistently give it high ratings for quality. The section on Anglican Resources is particularly interesting. Their listing of links is so complete, this list seems threadbare. In their own words: "This page may help shed some light on aspects of the 80-million member, worldwide Anglican Communion. We hope you'll find the material here interesting, entertaining--even challenging. After all, we hold that Jesus Christ came to take away your sins, not your mind."

ONE Episcopalian ™ is a grassroots partnership between The Episcopal Church and the ONE Campaign to rally Episcopalians – ONE by ONE – to the cause of ending extreme poverty in our world and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Emmanuel is a ONE Episcopalian congregation.

Dictionary of Episcopal Things: Did you ever wonder what an alb is? Or, what the difference is between a Bishop, Assistant and a Bishop, Suffragan. This site is a guide for non-Episcopalians to many of the terms and phrases in use around Sewanee.

Section 2: Bible, Prayer Book, and Hymnal Resources

Oremus Bible Browser: You can search for passages, phrases or even single words that appear the New Revised Standard Version (NSRV) of the Bible. The NSRV is used in our worship services.

Bible Gateway Search Engine: This resource allows you to search many different versions of the Bible.

The Book of Common Prayer: You can download a section of the Book of Common Prayer to your computer in a version compatible with your wordprocessor program. Old editions of the Prayer Book are available. Prayer Books from different countries are also available.

The Lectionary Page: The Revised Standard Lectionary is now official. This site presents a calendar with links to the lessons appointed for the day.

Oremus Hymnal: This online hymnal contains texts and MIDI files of tunes used in much of the English-speaking world, with particular emphasis on the Anglican tradition. The hymnals from the United States are The Hymnal 1982 and The Hymnal 1940. From Canada, we have The Book of Common Praise (1938). And from England, but used in many parts of the Anglican Communion, The English Hymnal (1933), Hymns Ancient and Modern, Revised (1950), and The New English Hymnal (1986).

Section 3: Devotional Resources

The Daily Office: The Online Daily Office exists to give busy people a way to particpate in Morning and Evening Prayer including the readings and psalms for each day (along with a bit of music!). You will also find Noonday Prayer, Compline, and Devotions for Individuals and Families here. These rites are based on The Book of Common Prayer.

Compline: This is a direct link to the Compline service contained in the Daily Office link immediately above.
