The Health Ministry is an intentional ministry focusing on both healing and health by combining ancient Christian knowledge and traditions with modern health care. The Health Ministry witnesses to the healing activity of God through the local congregation by encouraging whole person health through:
Health Ministry Roles
Integrator of Faith and Healing -- Integrating practices of faith with the practice of wellness --Loving God, caring for His people.
Health Educator -- Providing health education to assist congregations in making choices for maintaining health, lowering risks, preventing illness and managing diseases.
Personal Health Counselor --Assisting individuals with understanding particular health concerns, identifying options, setting priorities, and seeking resources. Clarifying and interprets the language of healthcare so that the client can make informed choices and comply with healthcare recommendations.
Referral Advisor and Liaison to the Community Resources -- Maintaining knowledge of community services and resources to assist the congregants in obtaining required services in a timely and efficient manner.
Facilitator of Support Groups -- Initiating and organizing groups designed to support participants with specific issues.
Trainer of Volunteers -- Recruiting and training volunteers to provide assistance to varied ministry opportunities.
The Health Ministry does not provide medical care such as dispensing medicines, drawing blood, changing dressings, personal care tasks, etc.
