Honoring the first of the great commandments through worship is a principal function of the faith community that makes up Emmanuel. You are welcome to take part.  We believe that the risen Jesus was made known to the disciples in the breaking of the bread. So it is that He is made known to us today. Our Sunday worship includes a celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Emmanuel is an Episcopal Church, and the order of worship follows the services detailed in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP).  The Holy Bible is a cornerstone of our faith, and every service includes readings from Scripture. The lessons for the day are determined by the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL). Both the BCP and the RCL can be accessed on line.

There are two services on Sundays.

• At 8:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I is celebrated (BCP p323).  There is some organ accompaniment, but there is no choir.
• At 10:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II is celebrated (BCP p355). There is full participation by organ and choir.  This is considered the family service, and children are welcome.

Christian education for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends in time for the 10:30 service.

Do you have a 3-year-old or younger? If so, you’ll be glad to know that nursery care will is available from 8:15 am until the end of the 10:30 service. Please visit the Emmanuel nursery and get to know our exceptional nursery staff! If you would like to utilize the nursery, ask an usher to help you locate the pathway to the Christian Connection building. Follow the green footprints on the sidewalk on Pope Street. The nursery is on the bottom floor. The Children's Chapel is on the second floor of the same building. Children's Chapel is open to children three years old through kindergarten.
